Sapphire FUE is the name commonly used for an FUE hair transplant in which sapphire blades create the recipient sites. These are the small openings where the grafts are placed. FUE describes obtaining the donor grafts; sapphire describes an instrument used to create the recipient sites.
The procedure includes assessment and planning, extraction of donor grafts, creation of recipient sites and placement of the grafts. During FUE extraction, small punches are used to obtain follicular-unit grafts. A sapphire blade is used to make the recipient openings for implantation.
The hairline, angle and distribution of these sites are part of the surgical plan. The blade does not determine those decisions on its own.
The term identifies the blade used to create recipient sites. It does not describe a different source of donor hair or a separate method of extracting grafts. Other FUE procedures may use different instruments for the recipient openings.
When comparing proposals, ask how the donor area will be assessed, what coverage is realistic and how grafts will be distributed. A claim of faster healing, higher density or better graft survival needs evidence relevant to the complete procedure and the patient; the blade name alone is insufficient.
FUE extraction creates small wounds in the donor area, while recipient-site creation involves further incisions. Sapphire blades do not make the procedure scar-free. Recovery instructions and a return-to-work plan should be discussed with the treating clinic.
Hair transplantation redistributes existing hair. Future thinning of the surrounding hair should be considered when planning the hairline and coverage. A sapphire blade does not prevent that process or guarantee a particular result.
Shaving requirements depend on the planned procedure and the patient. The word “sapphire” does not describe whether hair is shaved. At ASMED, suitable patients may be offered Long Hair FUE, in which grafts are extracted and implanted with their existing hair length retained.
Compare the proposed graft count, the scope of treatment and the services included in a written quotation. A single price range cannot represent every clinic or individual treatment.
For treatment at ASMED, review ASMED’s hair transplant pricing and request an assessment. The proposed approach and any additional arrangements should be confirmed before booking.
ASMED uses Manual FUE with hand-operated punches selected and adjusted to the patient’s hair characteristics. Planning considers donor capacity, the distribution of extraction and the intended hairline and coverage. Dr. Koray Erdoğan personally creates the recipient sites.
