FUE hair restoration
FUE hair restoration or Follicular Unit Extraction is an evolving technique in hair restoration in which follicular units of 1, 2, 3 or 4 hair groupings are extracted from a patient’s dense bald resistant scalp one at a time, and are transplanted also one at a time into the patient’s bald areas. The extraction is performed using a small circular punch.
FUE hair restoration differs from traditional FUT (Follicular Unit Transplantation) in a number of ways. However, the most dramatic is that with FUT, the units are strip harvested often leaving a visible scar and the healing period is relatively long. FUE is a generally less invasive procedure that leaves little scarring and healing is quite rapid.
Due to patient demand and the dedication of talented FUE hair restoration surgeons around the world, the procedure has gained immense popularity. New and more precise tools are being developed and techniques are being improved upon that further guarantee the viability of the grafts and their quality while outside the body.
At the ASMED Surgical Medical Center in Istanbul, hair transplant turkey and headed up by Dr. Koray Erdogan, innovation, artistry and precision are the key to overwhelmingly successful results. Dr. Erdogan is a firm believer that artistry must be a large part of the surgical plan along with state-of-the-art techniques and extraction and implantation methods that safeguard the graft and afford positive transplantation results. Dr. Erdogan is the creator of the “Coverage Value” calculations used by many surgeons to calculate the number of grafts necessary in a recipient area to create the density desired and a natural look.
